Quantum Circuit Simulation
Quantum circuit simulation is essential for advancing quantum computing by allowing researchers to model and test quantum systems without needing physical quantum hardware. It enables the exploration of complex algorithms, error correction, and optimization strategies in a controlled environment. Simulations also help validate quantum hardware, ensuring its accuracy and reliability before deployment.
Overview task:
- Implement a matrix product state simulator using a machine learning library (e.g. jax).
- Validation of the simulator.
- Benchmarking the implementation.
Prerequisites:
- Understanding quantum computing (e.g. acquired from participation in the lecture Intoduction to Quantum Computing)
- Programming knowledge in c/c++ or similar
